So I was at the library Thursday. We have epic game nights every Thursday b/c my teen librarian made that happen, and she is awesome.
I normally just play the board games, but I got hooked into some random Steam game (don’t ask me what it was b/c I have no idea) and proceeded to get wasted by the library specialist about ten times. Mercifully, she left us in the hands of the teen librarian who proceeded to destroy all the players. Ha ha? Did I say mercifully? I meant to say “with a sadistic smile”. The takeaway? Library workers are just way awesome at everything.
If you need proof of this just ask you librarian for a booklist. This is why librarians rock more then any search engine. They can tailor the search based on what books they know you to like and your personality and books they have read and think you would like. It’s also super epic to watch them work. (Okay so sometimes they will give you a physical list of books and sometimes they will just pull books. The latter is more fun, but both are good.) If you’ve never experienced the awesomeness of this, let me enlighten you.
You say that you need some kind of books. “MG contemporary with humor.”
And the magic happens. Books fly off the shelves. And the librarians are keeping a running commentary the whole time. (Serious multi-tasking skills here.😎) “This one’s funny, but not over the top.”
“I think you’ll like this one a lot.”
“This one is not MG contemporary and isn’t really funny, but I loved it and want someone else to read it too so there.”
And when you’re done you have twenty-five pounds of books, achey arms, and the knowledge that one of your librarians does some serious martial arts.
Takeaway? Librarians=awesome. Also Mrs. Bangs n’ Braids may be doing some karate in the next Mrs. Awe story.
And I am thoroughly enjoying the 25lbs. of books I took home.
Is the crazy Wranting Writer and Lordess Lady of the blog b/c she says so.
