I hoped you liked last post, because this is more of the same! Mm. I really like making these pictures for my blog. Mayhaps I shall use them instead of gifs to represent things. Because sadly it probably takes as much time to find the perfect gif as it does to make one of these. DOESN'T THIS JUST MAKE YOU SAD? Haha, doesn't make me.
All right, so more awesome library events coming your way! First up, TAB!
#1---- Teen Advisory Board
Your library probably has one of these (if not it should), although it may be under a different name like TAG, although I look down upon TAGs as they sound like kiddie game groups (hehe, do not kill me if you have a TAG, please. I like my face intact.)
At my library, TAB is kind of fluid and mussed up. It is SUPPOSED to be a very efficient, sophisticated, get-things-done sort of thing where we teens--directed by the almighty teen librarian--plan events and the Summer Reading Program and get volunteering stuff in order and etc, etc. But, haha, really it's mostly chaos if people show, and eating lots of pizza, and me trying to get the librarian to read picture books (don't judge me). We DO get the stuff done, mind you, just not in an orderly fashion. But then again, we are teens so if you thought this was going to be neat as idk, something that is neat, well then there is something wrong with you.
And then sometimes no one shows but me so I get to spend an entire hour with the librarian. #YAY (for me) #EmojiAnnoyedFace (for my librarian) Although it must be said that whenever this happens we end up having to make backpacks for the little kids. Yay, for early literacy grants and menial labor with payment in pizza!
Yay! That's what a TAB meeting w/just me and my librarian looks like. I am the gingerbread (naturally).
#2--- Game Night!
Every Thursday the teens get the big upstairs room (aka the Thomas Room--thankfully not named after the Tank Engine and not decorated so). We get to play games! Mostly "computer"* games (*Wii, Xbox, Steam, and whatever the hell they use. Obviously I do not play these much.) But we do play Board/Card games too. Currently the drama club and Miss Evil Writer/Musical Library Specialist have a like 6 week streak of playing Spontuneous (just the best song-game ever). We are so loud that Mrs. Awesome Librarian has to shush us ALL THE TIME! #Yay!
And then every 1st Thursday, is a special themed game night, on which like only Pokemon or maybe Smash Bros may be played. Unless you are the drama club, bc we are subversive and will play Spontuneous to our dying day. Or just until Mrs. Awesome Librarian kills us. Which would be our dying day.
Accurate representation of game night.
#3--- Open Mic Night!!
Yay! We get to read poetry, watch poetry (on YouTube), eat pastry things, drink coffee, and snap our fingers (bc that is what you do instead of clapping). I regretfully must say that I was not there this year for this. #EpicSadness. BUT MY HEART WAS! I cannot believe I did not get to hear Mrs. Awesome Librarian reading cut-throat poems. MY SOULD IS CRUSHED, PEOPLE, MY SOUL IS CRUSHED!
Yay! Epic death from Sarah! (I'm just gonna call her that bc I am tired of calling her Mrs. Awesome Librarian all the time. #TooManyWords #MyHandsAreTired)
#4--- Gamers' Guide to the Galaxy!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay. It's our library's Let's Play channel. Not-So-Monthly meetings consist of annoying new things that YouTube is doing, no pizza, and gossip bc #LibraryGoals! And then on not-meeting Mondays we record things and then edit them and put them on YouTube!!!! Haha, I mean we record things and then don't edit them or put them on YouTube! #LazyPeople. Although to MY credit, I do edit. Always. Usually. Sometimes. #Haha #notGuilty BUT WE ARE WORKING ON THIS. WE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS. WE WILL GET BETTER BEFORE SARAH EATS US.
Hmmm. Sarah can be creepy sometimes. But anyways, be sure to check out our Let's Play channel. It is cool. *subtly places movie here so you can do so* #haha
So there; four more awesome library events that you can steal from! Be sure to leave comments about anything (I get lonely sometimes) and don't eat your patrons. It's rude and probably unethical and frowned upon in most societies.
Is the crazy Wranting Writer and Lordess Lady of the blog b/c she says so.
